BOYS BASKETBALL: Caledonia won its only boys basketball game last week 67-45 at home against Fillmore Central on December 5.
The Warriors opened with a 28-8 lead, but the Falcons closed it to 29-20. The first half ended with a 33-24 Caledonia edge, and the Warriors stretched that out in the second half for an easy win.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: The Warrior girls defeated Rushford-Peterson 78-64 in a very exciting back-and-forth game at Caledonia on Friday, December 8.
The girlsí basketball team is now 3-0 in the conference and 6-0 overall.
Coach Scott Sorenson said that his team started out well and built a nice lead against R-P. ìBut then it started to slip away and we went into half time only up one,î he said.

GYMNASTICS: The Caledonia/Spring Grove gymnastics team opened its season against Pine Island, a tough competitor that last season took the section championship. In the end, less than ten points separated the teams, with C/SG scoring 119.35 to 129.075 for Pine Island.
ìWe had a great first meet of the season,î said coach Paul Stevens. ìPine Island is the defending section champion, so we did well to stay fairly close to them. They were missing a few girls and we were missing Samantha Wermager, who was home ill for the day.î

WRESTLING: Caledonia/Houston/Spring Grove won four of its five wrestling meets last week.
The Warriors beat Fillmore Central 63-12 in Harmony on December 5, then won their home opener against Waukon 59-20 two days later.
C/H/SG won two of three as host of the Southeast Minnesota Challenge on Saturday, beating Austin 59-13 and Plainview 35-30 before losing to Kasson-Mantorville 36-32 in the finale.
