Albert Jay Monson
Albert Jay Monson, 36, of Huntsville, Alabama and formerly of Spring Grove, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 at his home in Huntsville.
He was born February 7, 1970, to Carlene (Gatheridge) and the late Andrew Sylling. Carlene later married Mark Monson, who adopted Albert.
He was a 1988 graduate of Spring Grove High School and graduated from college in 2001 with a degree in software engineering and a minor in electrical.
Albert had lived in Huntsville for two years. He previously lived in Colorado Springs, CO, and was a resident there for 14 years.
On May 11, 1994, he married Peyong Suk Kim in Colorado Springs.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a partner in Sprinkler Master and a software engineer.
Survivors include his wife; his parents, Mark and Carlene Monson; his grandmother, Martha Sylling of Spring Grove; three children, Cory Vickerman and Andrew and Rebecca Monson; two sisters, Susan (Leon) Spinden of Spring Grove and Nancy (Alan) Thomas of Rochester; three brothers, Wayne and Daniel Monson of Spring Grove and Thomas Monson of Faribault, MN.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Almer Sylling; grandparents Carl and Lois Gatheridge and Alvin and Virginia Monson; and a cousin, John Gatheridge.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Wilmington Lutheran Church, rural Spring Grove. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Elizabeth Stempinski will officiate.
Friends may call on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Roble Funeral Home, Spring Grove, and at the church one hour prior to the services Saturday.
