Olsen sentenced for criminal sexual conduct crimes
A La Crosse, Wisconsin man will serve at least 15 years in prison for criminal sexual conduct crimes.
Judge James Fabian issued the sentence against Roger Lee Olsen on December 13 in Third District Court in Caledonia.
Olsen, 41, was found guilty in August of 12 counts of first and second degree criminal sexual conduct. He assaulted a female under the age of 16 between August 1, 2002, and May 31, 2004.
The court sentenced Olsen on the five most serious counts. Counts 1-3 of the first degree charges carried 96 month concurrent prison sentence.
Fabian ordered the 96 month sentence of counts 4 and 5 to be served consecutively with counts 1-3. Fabian wrote that this was because of ์the multiple incidents over 22 months, the threats made toward the child should she report, the position of authority that the defendant found himself in, and the significantly different acts of sexual misconduct.๎
The total sentence was 288 months, with 192 months in custody and 96 months on supervised release.
Olsen must also register as a predatory offender.
He will be eligible for release in just over 15 years if he maintains good behavior in prison, Houston County attorney Rick Jackson said.
