GIRLS BASKETBALL: The Caledonia girlsí basketball team traveled to Kingsland Friday, December 15 for their first conference loss of the season. The Warriors lost to the unbeaten Knights in a close game 47-54. This brings Caledoniaís record to 3-1 in the conference and 6-1 overall.
Coach Scott Sorenson said the game was a tale of two halves. ìWe really did not start out very well,î he said. ìKingsland was able to jump out to a 33-20 lead at the end of the first half.
BOYS BASKETBALL: A last-minute comeback fell short for Caledonia in a 69-63 loss to undefeated Kingsland on December 15 in Caledonia.
The Warriors trailed by 10 at halftime, thanks in part to 14 turnovers.
But they clawed back in the final half to trail by seven points with 2-1/2 minutes left. Craig Loeffler made three 3-pointers and suddenly it was a 2-point game with 30 seconds left and Caledoniaís ball.
But Kingslandís Josh Hagen got a steal, drove down the court for a dunk, and was fouled. That three-point play brought the Kingsland bench to its feet, and sealed the win.
