David Kruse
David H. Kruse, 75, of Brownsville, died Monday, December 25, 2006, at his home.
He was born August 7, 1931, in Lima, Ohio to Kenneth and Grace Kruse. David graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in poultry science. He also was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.
On December 19, 1953, David married Dorothy Rockhill in Marshalltown, Iowa.
In 1969 Dave and Dorothy moved to New Albin, Iowa. David traveled throughout the mid-west working in sales with Hess & Clark until he retired in 1986. They moved to Brownsville in 1992.
Dave was a member of St. Peterís Church in New Albin, Iowa where he served on the church council. He also was a member of Brownsville Green and he was a supporter of the Commonweal Theater in Lanesboro.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy ìTî of Brownsville; a daughter, Brenda ìBJî (Don) Taylor of Copperas, TX; and two sisters, Polly Silberman of Chicago, IL, and Helen Baroniak of Helen, Maryland.
David was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karla Joy Kruse; and two sisters, Mary Bailey and Ruthie Arnold.
Memorial services will be Friday, December 29, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peterís Community Church in New Albin. Rev. William J. Reese, Ph.D. will officiate. Any memorials will be given to the Karla Joy Kruse Scholarship Fund. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
