Mabel A. Klankowski
Mabel A. Klankowski, 91, of Caledonia, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Tweeten Health Services, Spring Grove.
She was born November 20, 1914 in Black Hammer township, to Eugene ìBayî and Susan (Colby) Engelhart. Mabel attended schools in Spring Grove and graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1934. On May 20, 1942 she married Louis Klankowski at the Presbyterian Church in Caledonia. Together they farmed in Union township, rural Caledonia, for many years. On September 21, 1999 Louis preceded Mabel in death.
Surivors include two daughters, Ellen (Allan) Mueller of Mankato, MN, and Cheryl Klankowski of Caledonia; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Mildred Klankowski of Viroqua, WI, and Hildegard Klankowski of Reynolds, ND.
In addition to her husband, Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lloyd and Raymond; and one sister, Mildred.
Funeral services were Thursday, February 9, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 650 N. Kingston St., Caledonia. Rev. Tom Schultz officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends called at Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, 518 W. Main St., Caledonia, on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
