George W. Scobie
George W. Scobie, 90, a longtime resident of Rochester, died Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa.
He was born May 6, 1915, to Frank and Alma (Witt) Scobie in Sleepy Eye, MN, where he grew up and graduated from high school. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1937. On April 10, 1943, he married Phyllis Rathman in St. Paul, and together they enjoyed life for 63 years. They lived in Rochester until moving to Mabel, MN in July, 2005.
George is survived by his wife; and four children: Sandra (Jim) Landmark, Omaha, NE; Paul (Teresa) Scobie, St. Paul; Dale (Sue) Scobie, Spring Grove; and Deena (Steve) Reisman, Afton, MN; and five grandchildren.
George is preceded in death by his brother Herb (Ruth), sister Elizabeth Scobie and sister and brother-in-law Jean (DeeDee) and Harry Hornbrook.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date with interment in Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
