Bostone, Dent, Klinski enter guilty pleas
Enrico ìA.J.î Bostone, 18, of Caledonia, pled guilty to first degree criminal sexual conduct on January 23 in Third District Court.
A charge of third degree criminal sexual conduct was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Sentencing is set for March 1 at 1:30 p.m. before Judge James Fabian. The crime has a maximum penalty of not more than 30 years in prison and/or $40,000 fine. First degree charges were filed because Bostone was more than 36 months older than the alleged victim.
Bostone has undergone psychosexual evaluation and is amenable to outpatient treatment, court records state. He allegedly molested a boy on two occasions in June of 2005. The boy was 12 the first time and 13 the second time, according to the criminal complaint.
Bostone, who was charged on October 6, originally entered a plea of not guilty. He is presently in the Goodhue County Jail in Red Wing.
Dent to be sentenced February 22
Richard Allen Dent, 40, of Caledonia, pled guilty to three felony charges in Third District Court on January 26.
Two charges are for receiving stolen property and one is for theft-liability for crimes of another.
He also pled guilty to burglary charges in Fillmore and Allamakee (Iowa) Counties.
Dent originally pled not guilty to the Houston County charges, and had a trial date set for January 26.
Sentencing will be on February 22 at 1:30 p.m. before Judge Robert Benson. He is currently in the Goodhue County Jail. His attorney is Greg Schultz, Caledonia.
Dent was charged on October 31 after police searched his home in Caledonia and found items that had been taken in local burglaries.
Janse Randall Bjergum, 24, of Spring Grove was charged in the case on November 3 with two felony counts of receiving stolen property. Authorities recovered stolen property from various burglaries and thefts at his house in Spring Grove. An omnibus hearing for him is set for February 24 at 10:30 a.m. He is free on $25,000 bail.
Charges of methamphetamine possession and receiving stolen property were also filed on November 1 against Robert Dean Ellis, 49, Mabel.
Deputies recovered stolen property from burglaries that occurred in all three counties. Tools, guns, food, and hunting and trapping equipment were confiscated. Other search warrants of houses thought to be connected with the burglaries were executed in Mabel and Harpers Ferry, IA.
Klinski pleads guilty
Jacob Daniel Klinski, 24, Caledonia, entered a guilty plea to felony theft at his omnibus hearing on February 2 in Third District Court.
Klinski, who was charged on October 25, is accused of stealing money from Good Times Restaurant and Bar, where he was employed in Caledonia from April 24-October 24.
Klinski admitted to investigators that he took at least $500 and possibly more. The restaurant owner said the loss exceeded $1,000.
He will be sentenced on April 5 at 10:30 a.m.
