Evelyn M. Corey
Evelyn M. Corey, 92, of Houston, died Saturday, January 21, 2006, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Houston, MN.
Evelyn was born on December 6, 1913, in Nodine, MN to Edward and Carolyn (Pohlman) Johnson. She grew up in Nodine and graduated from Winona High School. On May 13, 1942, she married Robert Corey. She and Robert farmed in the Houston area for many years. She was an active member of the Looney Valley Lutheran Church in rural Houston.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Robert; one son, Darrel (Janine) Corey of Dakota, MN, one daughter, Dr. Sandra Enger of Huntsville, Alabama; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, at the Looney Valley Lutheran Church in rural Houston with the Rev. Jeff Forbes officiating. Burial will be in the Money Creek Cemetery in Money Creek, MN. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Homes ñ Houston Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
The family prefers memorials to be directed to the Looney Valley Lutheran Church.
