Brownsville man charged in La Crosse burglary, assault case
A Brownsville man, Ron Schroeder, 19, is among six people charged in an assault and burglary that took place in La Crosse, WI on January 12.
Others charged are Carlos Marcus, 27, and Jaimie Miller, 25, La Crosse; and Abby Hines, 20, Roger Clark, 29, and Dillon Heiller, 20, no addresses given.
They each face 10 counts, including burglary, felony aggravated battery, theft, criminal damage to property, and resisting arrest.
According to the criminal complaint filed in circuit court in La Crosse County, the four men and two women went to a manís apartment on 5th Avenue at about 3 a.m. after Miller had left there earlier following an argument. Two men in the house were then beaten and robbed by some of the men while the two women waited in a car outside, the complaint states. The alleged theft included a computer and CDs.
Four of the suspects, Hines, Marcus, Miller, and Schroeder, were arrested at the scene. Suspects Robert Clark and Dillon Heiller ran from officers and were not apprehended at the time. They were still being sought as of January 23.
Schroeder has a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. on January 25 in La Crosse.
Hearing dates changed
In other court news, the hearing date for a Rushford man charged in Houston County with several burglaries that occurred last April have been scheduled in Third District Court.
Andrew Warren Brand, 19, made his initial appearance on December 19. A rule 8 hearing that had been set for him on January 18 was moved to April 7.
Justin Lee Kerns, 18, had an initial juvenile hearing on January 11.
The two men face charges of second and third degree burglary, criminal damage to property, theft, felon in possession of a firearm, and carrying weapons without a permit. The burglaries of three homes occurred in rural La Crescent and Houston.
New Bingenheimer date
Joseph Wayne Bingenheimer, 23, Eitzen, had his an omnibus hearing of January 18 moved to April 7 at 9 a.m.
Bingenheimer was charged with burglary in the third degree and first degree attempted manufacture of methamphetamine following a search at his home 321 Iowa Avenue on October 14.
Numerous items were recovered such as chainsaws, tools, watches, etc. Also discovered during the course of the investigation was precursors and remnants of a methamphetamine.
Bingenheimer is out of jail on bail.
