Louise Meiners
Louise Elizabeth Meiners, 101, died December 30, 2005.
She was born May 18, 1904 in Houston County, MN to William and Pauline (Klante) Fruechte, and was baptized and confirmed at St. Lukeís United Church of Christ in Eitzen.
She married Martin F. Meiners on October 9, 1923. They farmed in Houston County several years before moving to Redwood County in 1927 where they farmed until 1950, after which they moved to Clarissa, Todd County.
Louise was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church and the WELCA.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Martin (Mike); five sisters, three brothers; one son, Gorlynn in 1992, and an infant son; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by daughters Shirley (Clarence) Gilb of Lucan, Audrey (Carl) Lawrence of Minnesota, Roxana (Derwin) Jensen of Hutchinson, Randeen (Daniel) Murphy of Sleepy Eye, and Verneil (Richard) Thompson of Alexandria; sons Amber (Julie) Meiners of Coolidge, AZ, David (Becky) Meiners of Edgerton and Dean (Sandra) Meiners of Clarissa; daughter-in-law Nancy Meiners of Scottsdale, AZ; 34 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; sister Olga Thomas of Sleepy Eye; brother Ewald Fruechte of Waukon, IA; three sisters-in-law Mildred Fruechte of Swanville, Elsie Meiners of Eitzen and Olga Thimmesch of New Albin, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, January 3 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Clarissa. Internment was at Zion Cemetery, Clarissa. Arrangements were made by Iten Funeral Home, Clarissa.
