Tillie Beneke
Tillie Beneke, 89, of Waukon, died Sunday, January 8, 2006 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI.
Tillie Viola Beneke was born on August 9, 1916 in Cashton, WI, the daughter of Frank and Lucy (Winchel) Schallock.
On August 17, 1946 she married Henry William Beneke at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in La Crosse. The two farmed together in the Sleepy Hollow area of rural New Albin on Henryís home farm.
Survivors include her four children, Karen (Jeff) Lampert of Brownsville, Loren (Lois) Beneke of Waukon, Arne (Janet) Beneke of New Albin and Arlyn (Marge) Beneke of Durham, CA; nine grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband in 2002; two brothers, Louie and Vernon ìBobî Schallock; and two sisters, Lula Koenig and Clara Tucker.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Johnís Wheatland United Church of Christ in rural New Albin, IA, with Rev. Paul Burgess officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
