Robbery suspect pleads guilty;
Luhman pretrial hearing set

A 16-year-old La Crescent youth who allegedly beat and robbed a woman at knifepoint pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery at a June 16 hearing.

The plea by Mark Anthony Anderson came after he was certified as an adult.

Judge James Fabian ordered a pre-sentence investigation. Anderson is scheduled for sentencing on July 19 at 2:30 p.m.

He had been charged with eight felony counts in the case, in which a 43-year-old woman was beaten and robbed in La Crescent on the afternoon of April 7.

A 14-year-old male juvenile who formerly lived in Caledonia has also been charged in the incident.

The 14-year-old juvenile faces the same charges except that the assaults are gross misdemeanors and not felonies because he had only one prior offense.

Anderson is in the Goodhue County Adult Detention Center in Redwing.

Luhman pretrial set

A pre-trial hearing for John Michael Luhman, 18, of Caledonia has been set for July 12 at 3:00 p.m.

Luhman was charged with 11 crimes on May 4: first degree burglary, a felony; two counts of fourth degree assault and one count of obstructing the legal process, which are gross misdemeanors; and two counts of domestic assault, two counts of fifth degree assault, one count of disorderly conduct, and one count of criminal damage to property, all misdemeanors.

They came after a May 3 in Caledonia in which he allegedly kicked open the door at his former girlfriendís house and forced her to the ground. He also allegedly head-butted a Caledonia Police officer, and had to be restrained using a Taser.
