Brownsville celebration coming

The Brownsville Days celebration is set for Friday-Sunday, June 23-25, mostly at the ballpark. It is sponsored by the Brownsville Lions.

Friday features co-ed softball starting at 7 p.m., and a variety show featuring entertainment by local people. This will be followed by live music by Breakdown Acoustic.

On Saturday, softball starts at 9 a.m.; kickball at noon, and kids games at 1 and 4 p.m. A beanbag tournament takes place at 1 p.m. also. Breakdown Acoustic caps the evening from 8 p.m.-midnight.

Sunday starts with more softball at 9 a.m. An ecumenical church service featuring the Spokesmen Quartet happens at the community center at 9:30 a.m. A chicken dinner takes place there from 11 a.m. until the food is gone. There is kickball at 11 a.m. too.

The parade takes place at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Kids games follow at 2:30, plus a horseshoe tournament, and a baseball game of Brownsville vs. Caledonia.

The day ends with kick ball at 3:30 p.m.
