TRACK: Two individuals and two teams from Caledonia/Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton earned medals at the state Class A meet June 9-10 at Hamline University in St. Paul.
Senior Amelia Schaller finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 118'06". It was won by Laura Hubner of St. Clair/International Falls with 130'01".
Sophomore Zach Gran finished 7th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.82. Chris Bradford of Minnehaha Academy won in 11.53.
The boys 4x200 team of Gran and seniors Kevin Klug, Lucas Nelson, and Andy Marnach finished second with a time of 1:30.77. Holy Family Catholic won with a time of 1:30.44.
The girls 4x200 relay team of freshman Laquita Becker, sophomore Sarah Colleran, freshman Megan King, and junior Ashley King, finished 6th with a time of 1:48.71. Sauk Center won with 1:46.95, and La Crescent finished 3rd with 1:47.20.
The boys 4x100 team of Karl Klug, Andy Marnach, Zach Gran, and Kevin Klug was disqualified due to a uniform problem.
As a team, the boys were 26th with 13 points; the girls were 33rd with 10 points.

GIRLS GOLF: Janelle Lilliquist, Caledonia /Spring Groveís only state golf qualifier, turned in a score that was 22 strokes better than her score last year. Lilliquist, a junior, had a 43-43 on the first day of the tournament and a 42-43 the second day for a total of 171. She was in 26th place this year. Last year, she was 50th.
