Harry A. Schuldt
Harry A. Schuldt, 96, of La Crescent and formerly of Caledonia, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Caledonia Care and Rehab in Caledonia.
He was born March 14, 1910 in Jefferson Township, Houston County to William and Dora Issacson Schuldt. Harry was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Army and served for 34 years, with 12 years in active service and 24 years in the Army Reserve.
He married Lois Kumpf in Winona. She preceded him in death on November 6, 1980. Harry worked in the MN State Soil Conservation Service until his retirement in 1972. He was a lifetime member of Houston County VFW and a member of the Loveless Eikens American Legion Post 191.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sharon (John) Esch of Caledonia and Pamela Gran of Rochester; a son, Brian Schuldt of Shore Acres, LaCrescent; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, a brother, Charles Edward Schuldt of Virginia Beach, VA; three sisters, Esther Merry of Rochester, Phyllis (Lee) Jensen of Carguth, MO, and Dolores (Bob) Weiss of Overland Park, KS; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Schuldt of Caledonia, and Frances Schuldt of LaCrescent; a brother-in-law, William Schaller of Freeburg; and two very special friends, John and Dorothy Genz of Shore Acres.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 30 at The United Methodist Church, Caledonia. Pastors Mark Bengtson and Sharon Goetzinger will officiate, military honors will occur after the service Friday, and burial will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia and also from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church Friday.
