Sibyl M. Reining
Sibyl M. Reining, 89, of Caledonia, died Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Caledonia Care and Rehab in Caledonia.
She was born November 3, 1916 in Caledonia to Herman and Ida (Schiltz) Saas. She married Frank Reining January 17, 1939 at St. Peterís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Frank preceded her in death on April 27, 1994.
Sibyl worked as a cook at Frankieís Inn and the The Crest Supper Club, both of Caledonia for several years. She was a lifelong resident of the Caledonia area and she loved to sew, cook, and garden. She was a member of St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia, its Council of Catholic Women and its rosary group.
She is survived by nine children, Carol Welscher of Caledonia, Lois (Raymond) Klinkhammer of Rochester, Lorna (Robert) Rogich of LaCrescent, Jane (Roger) Schmitz of Caledonia, Ann Sauer (Kevin Miles) of Mabel, Ben (Lorene) Reining and Len (Merlene) Reining both of Caledonia, John (Joan) Reining, Mary Jo (Gary) Schulze both of Brownsville; 30 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; special friend Ron Sauer of Caledonia; a sister, Alexia Haroldson of Winnebago, MN; a brother, Norman (Della) Saas of Montana; three sisters-in-law, Loretta Reining of Litchfield, MN, Sr. Bernadone Reining of Saginaw, MI, and Lou Reining of Rochester.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Francis, a grandson Anthony, a son-in-law, Bert Welscher, four sisters and one brother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Holy Family Hall. There will be a rosary at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Tuesday.
McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
