Alice Marie Myhre
Alice Marie Myhre, age 93, of Spring Grove died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Tweeten Health Care Center.
Alice was born January 28, 1913, in Winnebago Township, daughter of Ulrich and Clara (Rask) Munkel. She was a life long Spring Grove area resident. She graduated from Spring Grove High School and Winona Normal School. She taught in Houston County rural schools.
On May 11, 1935, she married Arnold H. Myhre in Caledonia. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2001.
Alice is survived by six daughters and three sons; Joan (Tom) Baumgardner of Tallmadge, OH, Carolyn (Paul) Solberg of Decorah, IA, Dorothy (Lyle) Bacon of Rochester, Mary Newgaard of Spring Grove, Helen (Carter) Wiechmann of Lubbock, TX, Richard (Sylvia) Myhre of Marshfield, WI, Lorraine (Dwight) Perkins of Thorp, WI, Wayne (Susan) Myhre of Winona, and Gordon Myhre of Spring Grove; 21 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters, Ruth Diersen of Spring Grove, and Doris Bisping of Dorchester, IA, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Arnold, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Allen Bacon; a great-granddaughter Julia Grace Myhre; her brothers Burnell Munkel and Arnold Munkel; her sisters-in-law Marion Munkel and Anna Munkel; her brothers-in-law Elmer Diersen, and Martin Bisping; and two sisters in infancy.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Pastor Stephanie Frey will officiate. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roble Funeral Service in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
