Ace Telephone will close Caledonia office
Ace Link Telecommunications will close its business office at 310 West Main in Caledonia as of April 28, 2006. The announcement was made on Monday.
Ace Customer Service Manager Melanie Hansen told The Argus that several factors were considered in making the decision to close the office. Keeping the one-person office operating was both challenging and expensive, and most local customers did not visit the office to conduct business, she explained. In fact, she said, a customer service survey conducted in September of 2005 showed that 89 percent of Caledonia customers visited the office ěrarely or never.î
The company feels that it can offer better service to customers from a central location.
Caledonia was the only town in Aceís service area with its own business office, with the exception of Houston, Hansen noted. A local technician will still serve Caledonia.
Ace will continue to provide telephone, digital television, and internet to Caledonia customers. The number for customer service is 1811. The number for repair service and internet support is 1611. Midwest Wireless phones and accessories will be available at the Houston office at 207 East Cedar.
For bill paying, customers can sign up for direct pay, drop off payments at Bank of the West, use the drop box in the Caledonia Ace Link building parking lot, or by mail.
Cindy Wold was the customer service representative in Caledonia. She will be moving to the Houston office.
