Eleanor L. Schech-Krugmire
Eleanor L. Schech-Krugmire, 89, of Sheldon, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Valley View Nursing Home, Houston.
She was born April 27, 1916, in Caledonia, to Edward and Lilly (Roland) Schech.İİEleanor attended Sheldon School and graduated from Caledonia High School. She then attended Macalester College and the Miss Woods Primary Training School in St. Paul, graduating in 1937.İİEleanor taught first and second grades in La Crescent for over five years.
On June 26, 1940, she married Ivan Krugmire.İShe and her husbandİlived in La Crosse until 1946 when they moved to Eleanorís family farm, known as Schechís Mill, by Sheldon.İİ
Survivors include her husband, Ivan of Sheldon; one daughter, Elaine Krugmire-Tighe and her husband Jim, of St. James; one son, Edward Krugmire and his wife, Jonie and their daughter, Carey, all of Afton; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 16, atİ1:30 p.m. atİCaledonia UnitedİMethodist Church. St. Pastor Susan Li will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, on Wednesday fromİ5İp.m. untilİ8İp.m. with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.İİFriends may also call at the churchİon Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eleanorís memory may be made to either the Mayo Clinic Alzheimerís Research Center or the Cancer Research Center.
