Man hangs himself in jail
Nathan Holter, 39, of rural Caledonia, was found hanged on Thursday morning, March 16, in the shower area of a maximum-security cell block at the Houston County Jail.
Holter was found by a jailer during a routine cell check about 10:30 a.m. He was taken by ambulance to Franciscan Skemp Hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 11:45 a.m.
Holter had been jailed for violating conditions on his release on three separate felony charges.
