Donald N. Bissen
Donald N. Bissen, 89, of Brownsville, died Friday, March 3, 2006 in La Crescent Healthcare Center, La Crescent.
He was born in La Crosse, WI on May 20, 1916, to Peter and Minnie (Schaffer) Bissen, Jr.
Don worked for Gateway Transportation as a mechanic until his retirement in 1975. He also served our country during WWII in the US Army.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lawrence, and one sister, Ellen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brownsville. Rev. Gregory Leif will officiate. Burial with military honors by the Le Roy D. Holzwarth VFW Post 6801, Brownsville will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery in Brownsville, Minn. Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 6, in Breza Hall with Rosary to be held at 6:30 p.m. Friends and family may also call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the Church on Tuesday.
The Blaschke-Schneider Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
