By Jane Palen

When Malynda Jordahl went from a job where she could wear jeans to a job that required career wear, she counted on consignment shops to help her make the switch economically.

Now, sheís helping others do the same with her new store, ìThe Revolving Closet,î which she and her sister, Teresa Crossman, opened March 1 in the Schoolhouse Mall, 311 West Main, Caledonia.

ìWhen opportunity knocked, we jumped,î said Jordahl. who added that she is excited about the quality of clothing that has been coming into the store. There are clothes for children, women and men, and a selection of purses and shoes as well. Sizes range from infant to size 22.

Jordahl and Crossmanís mother, Suzanne Crossman, will manage the store. Teresaís daughter, Amanda England, works at the store and also makes beaded items such as cell phone holders that are sold at the store.

The store has an upbeat red and black decor and clothing is arranged to make browsing easy. There is a spacious dressing room available.

The store is currently accepting spring and summer clothing on consignment. Itís best to make an appointment before bringing items in. All items should be in good condition and have no rips, broken zippers, missing buttons, or the like. Baby equipment and toys in good condition are also accepted. A brochure explaining the storeís policies is available.

The hours of the store are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The phone number is 507-725-8641.
