Belva Darling
Belva Darling, age 86, of Lansing, IA, and formerly of New Albin, died May 15, 2006 at Thornton Manor in Lansing.
Belva was born in New Albin on August 7, 1919 to Lysander and Clara Darling.
Belva had been handicapped most of her life. For many years she lived with and helped take care of her parents. She enjoyed listening to music, playing Bingo and visiting with her family and friends.
Survivors include four siblings, Bunny (Vernon) Melcher of Waukon, IA; Robert Darling of Strawberry Point, IA; Thomas Darling of New Albin; and Elton Darling of New Albin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Melvin, Vernon, Elsie Williams, Vivian Kilby, and Virginia Verdon.
The Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing is assisting the family.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Town House in New Albin with Pastor Keith Putney officiating. Burial will be in the New Albin City Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the Town House.
