Weis celebrates 99th birthday
Monica Weis celebrated her 99th birthday with get-togethers with family and friends at Caledonia Care and Rehab.
She has four children: Clayton (Carol) Weis, La Crosse; Caroline, deceased; Rita Chouinard, Hastings, MN; and Kathy (Howard) Gillen, La Crosse. She has 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Monica was born April 24, 1907 to Peter and Katherine Esch. She married John Weis, now deceased, on November 25, 1926. She owned and operated restaurants in Caledonia for 29 years, starting with Frankies Inn in 1956 which she later sold. She then bought the Coffee House in 1974 which she operated until her retirement in 1985.
Lee to celebrate 90th birthday
There will be an open house in honor of Reuben Leeís 90th birthday on Sunday, May 28 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the residence of Paul and Colleen Lee, 17725 Nine Oaks Dr., Spring Grove.
80th birthday party planned
An 80th birthday celebration featuring cards and coffee will be held for Berton Paulson on Saturday, May 20, at 2 p.m. at Pattyís house on County 25 in Mound Prairie Township.
