Fitness center has new owners

Tony and Carol Schiltz of Caledonia have purchased Hodges 24/7 Workout Center in Caledonia.
The sale with previous owner Ernie Hodges was finalized on May 11.
The business, located at 127 East Main Street, will now be called Caledonia 24/7 Workout Center. It has a variety of equipment such as treadmills, elliptical machines, and weight training equipment. Single and family memberships are available on a six month or annual basis. Members are issued a pass key which allows them to use the facility any day, any time.
ìI saw it as a pretty big opportunity,î Tony said of the purchase. He feels that more and more people are finding it important to maintain good health.
Tony said his job there will be do some maintenance of equipment. June McCabe will stay on as an employee. She does cleaning, orienting of customers, insurance work, and cleaning there, and is an integral part of the operation, Tony said.
Tony works as freight coordinator at Caledonia Haulers. Carol is a Caledonia Elementary School secretary. They will continue in their present jobs while running the fitness center.
