TRACK: Caledonia/Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton will host its second big track meet in less than two weeks this Thursday.
Caledonia hosted the nine-team Three Rivers Conference meet on May 13.
This time it will be the Sub-Section 1A meet. Top three in every event qualifies,. Field events start at 4:30 p.m., running events at 4:45 p.m..
The top three place finishers in each event will advance, plus those that meet the qualifying times or the 8th best performance in all of the sub-sections. The Section 1A meet, which consists of 27 teams, is next Tuesday and Thursday, May 30 and June 1 at Stewartville High School.
The Warriors competed in the La Crescent May Soiree VIII on May 16 at Earl Seaton Field.
Caledonia had many high finishes in both the boys and girls events. No team scores were kept.

SOFTBALL: With one win and one loss over the weekend, Spring Grove/Caledonia remains alive in the sub-section 1AA East tournament.
The girls play St. Charles in St. Charles today (Wednesday) at 4:30. The winner of that game advances to the finals at 6:30 to meet the winner of the Cotter/Plainview contest
The teamís record going into todayís game is 14-6.
SG/C beats D-E
On Saturday, the girls shut out Dover-Eyota 7-0 in their afternoon game.
Cotter pitcher Hannah Callahan was the force behind Cotters win against SG/C 9-0 in Saturdayís first game.

GIRLS GOLF: Girls golf coach Ken Van Den Boom was not thrilled with his teamís second-place finish at the Southeast Invitational on May 15.
ìWe did not post a very good score,î said Van Den Boom. ì I hope the course dries out before sub-sections.î The match was played at Cedar River Country Club in Adams.
Sub-sections take place in Adams on May 30.
Caledonia/Spring Grove posted a score of 374. Lake City took first with a 355.
All of C/SGís golfers ended up in the top 10.
Janelle Lilliquist had an 89, Katelynn Hauser shot 92; Kelsey Kruse had a score of 95 and Laura Roesler ended her round with a 92.

BASEBALL: Caledonia starts its postseason baseball season this week.
The Warriors ended their regular season record at 6-11 in the Three Rivers Conference and 6-12 overall.
Caledonia is seeded #7 and will play St. Charles Tuesday, May 23 at 5 p.m. in St. Charles. They will also play on Thursday, May 25 at p.m. against either La Crescent or Plainview and the game will be away.
Here is a rundown of last weekís games from coach Eliott Kranz.
Monday May 15th we played a double header with Fillmore-Central. We split winning the first game 11-6 and losing the second game 4-1.
Thursday May 18 we played Rushford-Peterson. We struggled offensively and defensively losing 12-2 in five innings

BOYS GOLF: A single stroke separated the Caledonia/Spring Grove boys golf team from Southland/Grand Meadow on May 19. The meet was played at Ma Cal Grove.
S/GM won the meet 171-170. Mitchell Massman shot a 40 to lead the C/SG golfers. Alek Eglinton scored 41 and Kyle Runningen and Garrett Cross each scored 45.
Tyler Schulte had a 46 and Craig Loeffler shot a 49.
Sub-sections were to begin Tuesday in Adams.
Fifth score counts against Waukon
Mullins called the teamís showing against Waukon on May 16 ìa good performance after a bad day.î The team won with a tiebreaker score of 43 from fifth golfer Craig Loeffler. Both teams shot 160 with their top four.
Southeast Invitational
Mullins was disappointed with the teamís performance at the Southeast Invitational.
ìIt was not a good day for us,î he said. ìWeíve got some work to do.î
Tyler Schulte was the top golfer for C/SG with a score of 88 for 18 holes.
