Caledonia woman dies in car accident April 30
A Caledonia area woman died on Sunday in a two car crash east of Preston.
Greta Ingvalson, age 47, was pronounced dead at the scene after she was struck head-on by another vehicle driven by Daniel Burfield, age 23, of Spring Grove. Burfield and his two passengers, Jennifer Dehart, age 31, and Scarlett Dehart, age 2, of LaCrosse received minor injuries. Ingvalson was alone in her vehicle.
According to Fillmore County Sheriff Daryl Jensen, the accident happened just before 6:30 p.m. on County Road 12 in Amherst Township. Jensen said in a press release that it appears that Burfield lost control of his vehicle in heavy rain. Burfieldís vehicle crossed the center line into the path of Ingvalson. Jensen said that all four people involved in the accident were wearing seat belts.
Harmony Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the Fillmore County Sheriffís Office with assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia.
Interment of Cremains will follow at Wilmington Lutheran Church Cemetery, Caledonia.
Friends may call Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia, on Sunday.
Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove is in charge of arrangements.
