Robert Carl Knutson
Robert Carl Knutson, 76, of Rochester died May 2, 2006, at Seasons Hospice, Rochester, due to complications resulting from an automobile accident on January 7, 2006.
He was born May 8, 1929 in Spring Grove. He married Margaret Mayo on July 11, 1964 in Anoka.
Robert graduated from Rushford, MN High School and he worked on the family farm. He started working for IBM in 1957 and retired in 1991.
Robert loved sports. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends and walking at the mall. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Robert was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the IBM retirement club.
Survivors include his wife Margaret Knutson of Rochester; three daughters, Julie Knutson-Pine (Mark Pine) of Rochester, Jill Knutson of Jacksonville, FL, and Beth Knutson of Rochester; a son, Tom Knutson (Amy) Shoreview; four granddaughters; three brothers, Orrin (Marget) Knutson of Rochester, Allen (Margaret) Knutson of Rochester, and Dennis Knutson of Houston; two sisters, Marilyn Myers of Hinkley, and Yvonne Kinneberg of Apple Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a sister.
Memorial Service: 11 a.m., Friday, May 5, at Calvary Baptist Church, Rochester. Rev. Gene Murrell will officiate. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Thursday, May 4, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, Rochester, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice.
