Robert Burroughs
Robert ìBobî J. Burroughs, 73, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, LaCrosse, WI.
He was born September 24, 1933 in Caledonia to Jesse and Mabel (Henry) Burroughs. He married Erma Esch June 3, 1952 at St. Peterís Catholic Church, Caledonia.
Bob worked for Hector Construction, Caledonia, N.A. Roverud and Winona Excavating in Winona and then was half owner of Link Brothers Construction in West Salem. He was a self employed area contractor from 1978 to 1992. From 1996 until currently he drove school bus for Schmitz School Bus and was the grounds and maintenance keeper for Camp Winnebago, Caledonia.
He is survived by his wife Erma of Caledonia, his three sons, John of Brownsville; Larry (Julie) of LaCrescent; and Tom (Theresa) of Caledonia; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lois Nelson and Alice Schleich both of Caledonia; Joan (Lee) Breeser of Eitzen; Donna (Al) Schlinsog of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Jeannie (Lawrence) Kruse of Eitzen; three brothers, Donald (Bonnie), Milton (Elaine) and Tim (Janice) all of Caledonia, two sisters- in-law Sr. Mary Esch of Rochester; Ann Marie (Leland) Schulze of Brownsville; and a brother-in-law, Robert Colsch of New Albin, IA.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Colsch.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 17, at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCormick Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Friday.
