Sena Doering
Sena Doering, 103, of Caledonia, passed away at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, on Monday, November 20, 2006.
Sena was born November 10, 1903 to Targe and Sigrid (Stromme) Nerison. She grew up in Badger Valley and later lived on Fort Ridgely, both in Houston County, MN. Sena lived in Houston County her entire life. She was confirmed at the Stone Church in rural Houston in 1918. On May 16, 1924, Sena married Chester Doering at the Immanuel Lutheran Church parsonage in Caledonia. Together they farmed in Mayville township until Chesterís death in 1966. In 1968, Sena moved to Caledonia where she lived in her own home until her death.
Sena was the last remaining sibling to brothers, Oscar, Anton and Theodore Nerison; and sisters, Anna Harmel, Thea Ringius, Julia Copp and Clara Nerison.
Survivors include her sons, Loren (Janice) of Caledonia, Stanley (Rosalie) of La Crescent, and Chester of Caledonia; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and siblings, Sena was preceded in death by sons, Donald, Duane and Robert Doering; daughter, Sandra Johnson; infant twin granddaughters, Susan and Sherry Doering; and grandson, Daniel Doering.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 24, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Caledonia. Rev. Steven E. Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Caledonia, or the charity of the donorís choice. Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.
