Barbara Ohl

Barbara Ann Ohl, 66, of Brownsville, died at her home on October 6, 2006.

Barb was born November 22, 1939 in Houston MN. She graduated from Houston High School and attended St. Olaf College. In 1959 she married Ken Gaustad of Houston, they were divorced in 1975. She continued her education at LaCrosse University and Winona State where she obtained her degree. She was a teacher in Spring Grove and Caledonia, an insurance agent and manager, a business owner (Employee Flexible Benefit Systems of St. Paul which she sold in 2002) and together with her life long friend, Judy (Vathing) Williams, created Fanview Web Design.

Survived by her husband of 30 years, David; her three children, daughter Teri (Gaustad) Voltmer of Decorah, IA, sons, Brent (Ginnie) Gaustad of Brookville, FL, Doug (Connie) Gaustad of Houston, MN; one sister, Marion (Gerald) Engelhart of LaCresent; brothers-in-law Cecil Femling of Pelican Rapids, MN and Dwight (Sandy) Ohl of Brooklyn Center, MN; father-in-law Melvin Ohl of Tyler, MN. She is also survived by four step sons; Brad (Josephine) of McKinney, TX, Jeff (Jean) of Fayette, IA, Tim (Karin) of Loveland, CO and Jesse of St. Paul, MN.

She is survived by six grandchildren, one great grandchild and eight step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Elaine Femling of Pelican Rapids, MN and her parents Clarence and Julia Strand of Houston.

Barbara opted for cremation with a celebration of life event to be held at a later date.
