Julian Peppers

Julian Dewayne (J.D.) Peppers age 62 died Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center.

He was born on September 7, 1944 to Virgil and Lora (Cockrell) Peppers in Haleyville, AL. He graduated from Double Springs High School, AL in 1962. He married Shirley Clark in 1965. They had three children.

On October 14, 1978 he married Patricia (Patty) E. Richards at North Presbyterian Church in La Crosse. They moved to Houston in 1980.

J.D. began his telephone career as a contract cable splicer shortly out of high school. In 1975 he settled in the La Crosse area and worked his way up to regional engineering manager. Later he worked with his sonís Murfreesboro, TN based company TelPlexus.

He is survived by his wife, Patty, his three children: Richard (Julie) of Murfreesboro, TN, Lora (Greg) Peppers-Roth of McGaheysville, VA and Rhonda (Kevin) Bruce of Bowling Green KY, and four grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Janice (Rex) Baker, Haleyville, AL and nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Ruth Richards of La Crosse and brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Cheryl) Richards, Jaye (Mike) Tischer and David (Liz) Richards.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Robert Richards in 1989.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 am at North Presbyterian Church, La Crosse, on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 with the Rev. Scott Skogen officiating. Friends may call at the Hoff Funeral Home in Houston from 4 - 7 on Monday, October 9 and from 10 - 11 at the church on Tuesday.
