BOYS SOCCER: La Crescent evened things up in boys soccer with a 2-1 victory at home against Caledonia on September 21.
Caledonia won the first encounter with its arch-rival 2-0 two weeks earlier, but a late game goal gained the Lancers revenge and set up a post-season rubber match. In the other game last week, Caledonia beat Byron 3-0 at home on September 18. Schmitz had two goals, one at 36:00 assisted by Jordan Becker, and one at 68:00 assisted by Jackson Huus. Collin Gluch got the last one at 70:00, assisted by Becker.
FOOTBALL: Caledonia lost a thrilling football game to Rushford-Peterson 30-27 in triple overtime on September 22.
The home game on a perfect night couldnít have been more exciting, and seemed destined for overtime.
Caledonia had taken a 17-10 lead on Hudsonís second touchdown run of the game with 6:33 left in the game. Simon Augedahl followed with an extra point kick.
VOLLEYBALL: The Caledonia Warrior volleyball team had a tough schedule last week, coming up against some of the best teams in the Three Rivers conference. They defeated Dover-Eyota, then fell to St. Charles and Wabasha-Kellogg.

Caledonia defeated the Eagles in Dover-Eyota on Monday, September 18 in four games, 20-25, 25-23, 25-20 and 25-18. Caledonia 2, St. Charles 3

The two five-setters against St. Charles and W-K were both hard fought matches and coach Koepke said that he was very proud of the girls for the way they competed in both matches.
GIRLS SOCCER: Penalty kicks were a factor in the CHS girlsí soccer teamís losses last week against Byron and La Crescent. In between the girls won against Winona Cotter 2-0.

The 3-0 score against Byron on September 18 was not indicative of the match-up, said coach Sue Link. Defeat Cotter 2-0
The girls posted a 2-0 win against Winona Cotter on September 19. Both goals came in the second period. Sarah Colleran scored at 9:59 assisted by Clare Goetzinger, and scored again at 14:32 unassisted. Girls drop game to Lancers
A penalty kick was behind the loss to La Crescent on September 21, just as it had been in a previous loss to the same team. Still, the coach was positive about her teamís performance.
