Another arrest in pot case

Jacob Paul Markee, 24, Rochester, was charged on September 21 with four felony drug charges related to a 2005 marijuana bust near Hokah.
Markee was charged with possession, production and/or cultivation of a controlled substance in the third degree, and liability for crimes of another.
A search warrant at his home on September 20, 2005, found marijuana, $14,000 cash, packaging materials, and books and magazines about growing marijuana.
Authorities received some information in a phone conversation that Markee had with Patrick Daniel Dingley, 38, Rochester, the criminal complaint states.
Dingley and Mark Casey Richmond, 39, Houston, were charged in the case last year. Richmond pled not guilty on on May 9, and has a jury trial set for October 9 at 8:30 in Third District Court in Caledonia. A plea hearing for Dingley that was set for September 6 was cancelled and hadnít been rescheduled as of September 25.
Markee will make his first court appearance on October 6 at 3:45 p.m.
The three men are accused of growing 286 marijuana plants in three different groves on U.S. Fish and Wildlife land and the Gillette property near the Root River in rural Hokah Township.
Dorchester man charged
In other court news, Joshua Patrick Teff, 23, Dorchester, Iowa, was charged on September 20 with a fleeing a police officer, a felony, and four other crimes in an incident that occurred on the night of September 16.
According to a criminal complaint, Teff refused to get out of his vehicle after being stopped in Caledonia by officer Allan Johnson at about 11:30 p.m. He drove off after he was pepper-sprayed. During the ensuing pursuit he called 911. He then drove to the end of Grant Street and left the vehicle.
Officers found the unoccupied vehicle, but were not able to locate him.
Teff later turned himself in. He posted $2,500 bond, and was released from jail. His next court appearance is October 2 at 10 a.m. He was also charged with three misdemeanors: obstructing the legal process; driver allowing open bottle,; and no proof of insurance.
Jonathan Danielson jailed
Jonathan Wayne Danielson, 37, Caledonia, was charged on September 11 with two counts of criminal vehicular operation resulting in bodily harm, both felonies.
According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred on the early morning of September 7 when Danielson drove his Chevrolet Blazer home from a bar and tipped it on its side on County Road 249. A neighbor pulled the vehicle upright with his tractor.
Family members called 911 for an ambulance at 12:25 a.m. after Jonathan Danielson and his passenger, Elizabeth Danielson, arrived home at 20608 Jefferson Road. Elizabeth Danielson was screaming in pain from her neck and back, the complaint states. She was taken by ambulance to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center.
Jonathan Danielson was arrested at the scene. He refused to take a sobriety test, so he was taken to Winona Community Memorial Hospital where the test was done. He was then taken to detox in Rochester.
He is currently in the Houston County Jail. His next court appearance is October 4 at 10 a.m.
He also faces three misdemeanors in the case: third degree refusal to test; fourth degree DWI; and violating a harassment restraining order.
Schroeder pleads not guilty
Keith Allen Schroeder, 23, Caledonia, pled not guilty on September 11 to three felony counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Schroeder and Stanley George Colsch, 25, no known address, each were charged with car thefts that occurred on August 15 in Caledonia and Spring Grove.
Schroeder is currently in the Houston County Jail. No trial date had been set as of September 25.
Colsch is currently in jail in in Elkader, Iowa. He was arrested there for attempted burglary. He also had two felony warrants in Clayton County, Iowa. He is being held in jail there on $10,000 bail.
Colsch and Schroeder allegedly stole a truck from an Ellingson Motors lot in Caledonia, and attempted to steal a motorcycle in Spring Grove, then stole a car in Spring Grove.
Kruger requests hearing
Brian Anthony Kruger, 32, Houston, requested an omnibus hearing and waived the time limits to set it at a September 6 hearing.
Kruger was charged with felony domestic assault on August 25 after a domestic disturbance in the city of Houston two days earlier.
Kruger was also charged with gross misdemeanor interference with 911 call and two counts of misdemeanor domestic assault. He is free on $15,000 bail.
Burglary suspect has hearing
Christopher Michael Berge, 21, Houston, requested an omnibus hearing at his court appearance on September 6.
Berge faces four charges: one count of burglary in the second degree, one count of theft, and two counts of criminal damage to property after he allegedly burglarizing Crest Pre-Cast Concrete of La Crescent on August 24.
Two plants were burglarized, one in the City of La Crescent and the other in the La Crescent Township. These charges are all felonies and stem from the incident that occurred at the La Crescent Township plant.
No new court date had been set as of September 25. He is currently in the Fillmore County Jail in Preston.
Holly, Dahle hearings set
An omnibus hearing for Jessica Marie Holly, 28, Lansing, Iowa, has been set for October 4 at 2:30 p.m.
Holly is charged with one count of receiving stolen property and one count of theft, both felonies. Her first court appearance was August 18.
Brian Thomas Dahle, 31, Waukon, IA, faces the same charges. He appeared in court on August 22 and again on August 28, and is scheduled for omnibus hearing on October 6 at 11 a.m.
Also related to the case, Todd Eric Krogstad, 41, Caledonia, pled not guilty on September 13 to two felony counts of receiving stolen property. A trial date had not been set as of September 25.
The charges are connected to burglaries that took place in Allamakee County, Iowa, and in Mabel in October of 2005.
