Laura Schleifer and Wayne Meyer were united in marriage Sept. 16, 2006, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Burr Oak (Mindoro), Wis. Pastor John P. Werner officiated at the 2 p.m. service. Parents of the couple are Herbert and Janice Schleifer of Mindoro, and Harold and Eunice Meyer of Eitzen.

Diane Jerome, friend of the bride, was matron of honor with the groomís sisters Christine Jorde and Kari Johnson serving as bridesmaids. Junior attendants were nieces Brooke Johnson and Amber Jorde. Flower girls were nieces Devin Jorde, Elizabeth Johnson and Aubrey Jorde.

Steven Wild cousin of the groom was best man, with brothers-in-law David Jorde and Mark Johnson serving as groomsmen. Nephew Derek Johnson was junior groomsman. Nephew Colin Jorde was ring bearer. Ushers were John Reinke and David Stetzer.

The wedding colors were navy, light blue, and black, representing ocean, sky and earth. The brideís dream of ëgirls in white dresses and blue satin sashesí flower girls was made possible thanks to the sewing efforts of the groomís sister. The flower girls wore an exclusive private label collection by Christine Jorde. A reception at the Four Seasons Community Center in Caledonia followed the ceremony.
