Leo Robert Daley
Leo Robert Daley, 64, of Caledonia, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at his home after a three year battle with cancer.
He was born March 20, 1943 in Rochester, Minn. to Lawrence and Merrial (Ahern) Daley. He graduated from Lewiston High School and Winona State University. On June 24, 1967, he married Mary Weichert at St. Peterís Catholic Church, Caledonia.
Leo was a chemist at Economics Laboratory in St. Paul. He moved to Caledonia in 1970 and started Daleyís Crop Service and later Daley Lawn Care. He also worked in agricultural and insurance sales. He was a member of St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia.
Leo is survived by his wife Mary; eight children: Daniel (Schawn), LaCrescent; Lori (Thomas) Ross, Waukon, Iowa; Kelly (Marvin) Puspoki, Minnetonka, Minn; Chad, Caledonia; Rebecca (Ryan) Christenson, Woodbury, Minn.; Ryan; Christopher, and Anthony Daley all of Caledonia; 10 grandchildren; five brothers, John (Janice), Lewiston; Jim (Leora), Byron, Minn.; Jerry (Mary), Dalton, Ohio; Ron (Evelyn), Columbia, Md.; David (Ann), Waterford, Wis.; a sister, Mary Ann Scherbring of St. Paul; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Daley of Preston, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Peter and Larry Daley, and his stepfather, Wendlyn Duellman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 21 at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Holy Family Hall, behind St. Maryís Church, where a prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday.
McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
