Thelma Lane
Thelma O. Lane, age 86, Spring Grove, Minn., died Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Tweeten Health Services in Spring Grove.
She was born October 13, 1920 in Allamakee Co., Iowa to Sam and Jonetta (Halverson) Overhaug. She was baptized and confirmed at Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church, rural Spring Grove. She was a lifelong area resident, attending rural school.
On October 26, 1940 she married Leonard Lane at Waterloo Ridge parsonage. They farmed in rural Spring Grove and later Thelma worked at Pine Grove Rest Home and Tweeten Memorial Hospital both in Spring Grove. Leonard preceded Thelma in death on September 12, 1998.
Thelma was a member of Highland Lutheran Church and its womenís groups, and was also a life member of Spring Groveís Sons of Norway.
Survivors include two sons: Ronald and Larry (Pauline) Lane of Spring Grove; a daughter Arlys (Jerry) Markham, Wykoff, Minn.; and five grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 3 at 11 a.m. at Highland Lutheran Church, rural Decorah, Iowa, with Pastor David Andrea officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
