Shirley Link

Shirley Link, 71, Minot, N.D., died April 5, 2007, following a long battle with ovarian cancer.

Shirley J. Wiese was born on June 5, 1935, the daughter of Kenneth and Leona (Teff) Wiese in Hokah. She was raised in Hokah and educated at St. Peterís Grade and High School and graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1953. She graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1956.

She married Luverne "Vern" Link January 4, 1958, in Hokah, and they lived in LaCrescent. In 1960 the family moved to Minot.

Shirley is survived by a son, Kurt Link of Bismarck; one grandson; her brothers, Richard Wiese, Oceanside, Calif; Robert (Joann) Wiese, Williamstown, N.J.; Steve (Barbara) Wiese, Eagen, Minn.; Gary (Peggy) Wiese, LaCrescent; and Ken (Barbara) Wiese, Browsville; her sisters, Elaine Tschumper, Stanchfield, Minn.; Mary (Joe) Vernaci, Vista, Calif.; Louella (Bob) Becker, Hokah; and Carol (Jim) Mauss, Hokah.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and brother, Curtis.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 11, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot. Prayer service was Tuesday, April 10, at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

A memorial service will take place at St. Peterís Church, Hokah, in late May, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society; St. Johnís Catholic Church, Minot; Bishop Ryan High School, Minot; or Minot Catholic Schools Foundation, Minot.
