Alma Olerud
Alma Bernice Olerud, age 88 of Spring Grove, died Wednesday August 8, 2007 at Caledonia Care and Rehab in Caledonia, Minn. where she had been a resident for the past year and a half.
She was born April 28, 1919 in Wilmington Township to Louie and Lueda (Roble) Evenson. She was a lifelong area resident.
She was a Spring Grove High School graduate.
On November 4, 1938 Alma married Henry Olerud in the Immanuel/Wilmington parsonage in Caledonia. They farmed in Wilmington Township until retirement. Henry passed away on October 4, 1993.
Alma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.
Survivors include her foster son Terry (Arlene) Olerud, and his two children and two grandchildren; her brother-in-law Harold (Bernice) Olerud of Spring Grove; sister-in-law Helen Hallberg of Chicago, Ill.; and sister-in-law Iola Evenson of Denver, Colo.
In addition to her husband, Alma was preceded in death by her brother and sisters Jim Evenson, Lorraine (Dell) Farrens and Lillian (Arnold) Renslo. She is also preceded by Ted and Mildred Olerud, Art Olerud and Joyce Peters and Roland Halberg, Harold Reinke, Edward and Emma Stange, and Curtis A. Wennes.
Funeral services will be held Monday August 13, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Zane Anderson will officiate. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
