Florence Becker
Florence M. Becker, 93, of Caledonia, died Friday, August 10, 2007 at her home.
She was born May 13, 1914 in Caledonia to John and Johanna (Palen) Gaspard. She married Lloyd Becker February 24, 1936 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Caledonia. Lloyd preceded her in death December 25, 1984.
Florence was a member of St. Maryís Catholic Church, its Council of Catholic Women and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. ÝShe was also a founding member of the Monday Rosary Group and a member of the Quilterís Group at St. Maryís.
She is survived by her eight children, Carol Ann (Dr. Carlos Miura) of Ottawa, Ont.; Arlene Becker of Madonna House, Ottawa, Ont.; Terrance Becker of Caledonia; Gwendolyn (Alex) Ells of Port Oxford, Ore.; RoseAnn (Bob) Denny of Belle Plaine, Minn.; Patrick (Jean) Becker of Caledonia; Jane (Billy) Weiss of Langley, B.C.; and Joan Simmons of Caledonia; 22 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters: Sr. Lydia Gaspard of Rochester, and Millie Lee of Caledonia.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sisters: Hermina Schmitz, and Loretta Rathke; and two brothers, Victor and Orville Gaspard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Tues., August 14 at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Holy Family Hall behind St. Maryís Church, where a rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Tuesday.
McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
