No parking will be allowed on the west side of South Fifth Street during the Houston County Fair
Persons attending the Houston County Fair in Caledonia this week will have a few less parking places to choose from. The Caledonia City Council has restricted parking on South Fifth Street between Main and Washington streets to the east side only. "No parking" signs have been placed on the west side of South Fifth Street and violators will be towed away at the ownerís expense. The action was prompted during the Monday, August 13 council meeting when a resident living in the area voiced concerned about pedestrian and traffic congestion along the narrow roadway during the fair. The parking restriction will only be in place Wednesday through Sunday of this week.
