FEMA team arrives in Caledonia
Damage assessment process for FEMA has begun. Both individual and public
assistance assessments will be conducted. The assessments started Thursday morning.
The purpose of the assessments are to gather damage information that is needed for the President to make a disaster declaration.
A variety of federal disaster relief, including FEMA assistance, becomes available IF the President issues a federal disaster declaration.
So far, FEMA has not scheduled any public meetings and will not be taking any
individual applications for assistance at this time.
