The Caledonia girls soccer team will be looking at another winning season, with nine returning letter winners back from a team that went undefeated in the Wisota Bridges Conference last year. Coach Sue Linkís 2006 squad posted a perfect 6-0 conference record, and 13-5-1 overall.
The Warriors will be led this season by seniors Sarah Colleran, Clare Goetzinger, and Sara Kasten, juniors Erica Myhre, Theresa Ellenz, Mary Ellen Schiltz, and Brittney Wagner, and sophomore Kayla McCormick.
"We are excited to begin our season," coach Link said. "We have a great deal of potential and enthusiasm. Everyone has been working hard to improve as a team and this unity will bring us success on and off the field."
Link feels the flexibility of positions, variety of skills and ability to work as a team are some of her team strengths this season. She picked La Crescent, Rochester Lourdes, and her own Warriors to be the three teams vying for the Section 1A championship this fall.
The girls travel to Plainview-Elgin-Millville August 30 and host Winona Cotter September 4.
