Claude Danaher
Claude J. Danaher, 93, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Caledonia Care and Rehab in Caledonia.
He was born May 5, 1914 in Caledonia to James E. and Alvina (Schulte) Danaher. He was a graduate of Loretto High School, Caledonia and served for four years in the U.S. Army in the Infantry during WWII in the Pacific Campaign. He married Ruth Murphy March 4, 1946 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Caledonia. Ruth preceded him in death on November 27, 1988.
Claude and his brother Robert owned Danaher Hardware in Caledonia from 1946 to 1979. He was a member of St. Maryís Catholic Church, Loveless Eikens American Legion Post 191 and Houston County VFW Post 3133.
He is survived by three children, William Danaher of Austin, Texas, Kathy Danaher of LaCrosse, and Richard (Jane Greenberg) Danaher of Minneapolis; three grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy McCormick.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Howard, and Loyola.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 4, at St. Maryís Catholic Church, Caledonia.ÝFather Gregory Leif will officiate and burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia.ÝFriends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday at McCormick Funeral Home,ÝÝCaledonia,Ýwhere a prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m.ÝFriends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday.ÝMemorials may be given to American Disabled Veterans.
