Wayne Steele
Wayne L. Steele, 70, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007 at Caledonia Care and Rehab.
Wayne was born Feb. 19, 1937 in Winnebago Township, Houston County, to Benjamin and Luella (Thoen) Steele. On March 12, 1960 he married Emily Lampert and they later divorced. Wayne was self-employed for many years as a logger in the surrounding area.
Survivors include four children: Greg, Kevin (Tamiko), Tami (Mark) Klinski, and Pam (Kevin Haas) Guillaume, all of Caledonia; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Steele, Caledonia; nine grandchildren; two great-granchildren; two sisters: Lois Schutz and Julia Ann Bakke; and one brother, Bill Steele.
Wayne was preceded in death by his son Curtis Steele; one brother, Merle Steele; and one sister, Doris Pinzone.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. at Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia. Rev. Steven E. Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
