CHS grad Jenna Foellmi dies Friday in Winona

Jenna Foellmi, a 20-year-old sophomore at Winona State University, was found dead in her off-campus apartment Friday morning. She was the daughter of Gregg Foellmi and Cathy Foellmi, both of Brownsville and a 2006 graduate of Caledonia Area High School.

According to published reports, Winona police were called to Foellmi's apartment about 9:30 a.m. Friday after friends discovered Foellmi unconscious in a bed.

Officials did not report how Foellmi died, but said foul play was not suspected. An autopsy and toxicology tests will be taken, according to Winona County medical Examiner Dr. Thomas Roetzinger. Results of those tests wouldn't be known for several weeks.

Foellmi graduated with honors from CHS. She was a member of the National Honor Society, SADD, and she was a wrestling manager and was on the prom and Homecoming courts. She was majoring in bio chemistry and minoring in cel molecular biology.
