Palma Pehler
Palma U. Pehler, 95, of Lewiston died Wednesday, Feb. 14 at Caledonia Care and Rehab in Caledonia.
She was born June 20, 1911, in Arcadia, Wis., to Nicholas and Ursula (Florian) Christ. Palma married Andrew Pehler on June 20, 1940, in Arcadia. She was a rural schoolteacher for many years and later was in the retail clothing business with her husband, owning and operating Skogmos Clothing in Preston. Palma and her family later moved to Lewiston, where she lived until 2006.
She is survived by a son, Andrew Pehler of Lewiston; a daughter, Pamela (Jeb) Griffith of Caledonia; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew, on January 21, 1992, and by three sisters: Elsie Wieland, Wilma Studt and Ruby Clark.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hoff Funeral Home, Lewiston Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Bengston of the Caledonia United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Lewiston. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of services at the funeral home.
