George Beitlich
George Harold Beitlich, 85, of Caledonia, died Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Caledonia Care and Rehab.
He was born July 7, 1921, in the town of Bergen, Vernon County, WI, to Reinhold and Leda (Proksch) Beitlich. On March 22, 1949, George married Evelyn M. Schauble at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church in Caledonia. They had seven children.
During his married years, George was employed with Surge Corp.; John Deere in Waterloo, IA; Land Oí Lakes Creamery, and he retired from the Caledonia Hospital and Nursing Home after 28 years.
George was a member of St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church in Caledonia.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Caledonia; his children, Richard (Margie) Beitlich of Onalaska; Carolyn Beitlich of Winona; Charles (Peggy) Beitlich of New Ulm; Terry Beitlich of Minneapolis; Paul (Pam) Beitlich of Sarasota, FL; Jandeen (Steven) Youngren of Onalaska; and Kay (Glen "Buck") Gavin of Caledonia; 9 grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Beffa and Anna Wojahn, both of La Crosse; sisters-in-law, Annlouise Beitlich and Alice (John) Korthals, both of La Crosse; and Marvella Kohlmeyer and Charlotte Burmester, both of Caledonia.
George was preceded in death by four sisters, Adeline Manske, Marie Wrobel, Mabel Levendoski, and Mildred Oldenburg; three brothers, Leonard, Walter, and Robert Beitlich; and two brothers-in-law, Myles Kohlmeyer and Harold Burmester.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8 at St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church, Caledonia. Rev. Jon Wolff will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, both atÝSt. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church. Memorials may be given to St. Johnís Ev. Lutheran Church and/or School in Caledonia.
