Norbert Staggemeyer
Norbert H. Staggemeyer, 69, of Caledonia, died Friday, January 12, 2007 at his home.
He was born November 29, 1937 in Winnebago Township in Houston County, to Louis and Flora (Kumpf) Staggemeyer. He was a 1956 graduate of Caledonia High School.
On May 3, 1957 he married Grace Nelson at St. Lukeís United Church of Christ in Eitzen. Norbert was employed at Robertson Stave Co. in Caledonia until he purchased it in 1967. He has continued to own and operate the Staggemeyer Stave Co. in Caledonia from 1967 until the present. Norb was a very active member of St. Lukeís United Church of Christ in Eitzen.
Survivors include his wife Grace of Caledonia; one daughter, Lynn (Michael) Stefanidis of San Diego, CA; one son, Michael (Sandra) of Caledonia; two granddaughters; one step-granddaughter; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Milton (Evelyn) Staggemeyer of Eitzen and Howard (Janice) Staggemeyer of New Albin; and many nieces and nephews.
Norbert was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David; a sister, Mary Elaine; and a step-granddaughter, Aleesha.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 17 at St. Lukeís United Church of Christ, Eitzen. Rev. Kent A. Meyer, and Rev. Debra A. Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lukeís North Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Lukeís Church, Eitzen, on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Gundersen-Lutheran Hospice Program.
